PTSA News
The PTSA is a great way for parents to stay involved in their high schooler's education and school life. To join the PTSA for the 2018/2019 school year, please complete the membership form found here. PTSA Membership is $6 and helps the PTSA support our educators and Landstown High School students.
Please consider participating in the PTSA Stress-Free Fundraiser (Eagle Bucks) which is one way that they raise funds to support all the important events that your children participant in such as All-Night Grad. For more information, visit the PTSA website.
The PTSA needs help in the following areas:
- Hospitality/Staff Appreciation-- mostly in May, but may need some things before then
- All Night Grad Celebration--Senior yard sign sales, ANG ticket sales, obtaining donations/Prizes, planning/helping Mary Lau, Chairperson, get the event organized and planned
- Indoor Concession Stand-AFTERSCHOOL 1:45-2:45 October, December, February, April, June. You do not need to be available ALL these days. We are looking for a TEAM to work this out and looking for a Chairperson to head up the scheduling/buying items etc. to run the stand

Chromebook Information
The school division continues our transformational learning journey with the one-to-one device initiative. To that end, every LHS student has been issued a Chromebook for educational purposes. Teachers will regularly incorporate this technology into their learning plans. It is, therefore, very important for students to have their Chromebooks with them each day and to have them fully charged and ready to go. Please see the information here for details on the program and student responsibilities.
OneLunch Info
This year all students will have lunch after 3rd block. The academic benefits of a schoolwide lunch program include an uninterrupted 3rd block where students gain instructional time. It also provides an opportunity for teachers to have “office hours”, where teachers are available to support students through make up work, tutoring, reassessments, etc. You can access the listing of office hours here.
OneLunch is a tremendous opportunity for students to have some independence and choice. Club meetings and other activities will be regularly scheduled during this time and offer a great opportunity for each student to be connected to our school. Some students will choose to relax and talk with friends, which is also beneficial. Regardless of their choice, we expect students to be respectful of their school and of others. We can trust our students to make good decisions.
New this year, students will have the ability to pre-order their lunch in the morning. Lunch lines are usually dissipated within 10-15 minutes so don't worry . . .every student will have time to eat and enjoy their lunch during the OneLunch period.
Student Advisory Board
Our Student Advisory Board (SAB) is a student-run organization comprised of hardworking individuals who are committed to providing a voice for all students. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about Landstown and moving our school forward. All students are able to submit an application to serve on the Principal's Student Advisory Board. Online applications are available here.
Student Contests & Awards
Digital Contest: The American Evolution group has created a digital contest entitled, "Our American Story," for students in grades 8-12, designed to foster creativity, collaboration, critical examination and discussion among our country's next generation of leaders. Today's students have a crucial role to play in shaping the conversation and course of our nation's future. Students will share their unique perspectives on the themes of democracy, diversity and/or opportunity as part of the contest. In the process, students will gain a clearer vision of what America can be in the ages to come. The contest will close on November 30. Guidelines and additional information for the contest can be found here.
Prudential Spirit of Community Awards: High school students who are making a difference through volunteering can applying for the Prudential Spirit of Community Award. For an application and more information, visit the website here.
Dress Code
LHS dress guidelines are designed to promote a standard of appearance that complements the learning environment. Modesty, cleanliness, neatness and appropriateness are the standards which should be observed by all students in their personal dress and grooming. If there is doubt about a particular item of apparel, the student should contact a school administrator for a decision prior to wearing the clothing to school.

- Bare midriffs are not permitted.
- Lewd or suggestive attire or apparel which advertises, glorifies, or symbolizes gangs, obscene words, sexual acts, illegal items, illegal substances, racial epithets, or harmful actions, may not be worn.
- Jewelry or clothing that might create a hazard to a student’s safety may not be worn.
- Bandanas, hats, visors, caps, sweatbands, and other head wear may not be worn inside the building (unless related to a religious practice or for a medical purpose and approved by the principal).
