Fourth Grade Window: May 6th-17th (Make-ups May 20-22)

No Toys from Home!
With the spring-like weather returning, we are seeing more toys coming to school from home. This is just a friendly reminder to make sure that your child is not bringing toys from home including basketballs and footballs. Brand new basketballs, footballs, and kickballs have been distributed to the classrooms to use during recess. Thank you for your help in this matter!
March is Reading Month!
March is Reading Month: March is Reading Month is upon us with many exciting events and activities spread through out the month. Every Monday evening, families can enjoy a Facebook read aloud by one of our fabulous staff members. Tune into our Facebook page for these read alouds! On Fridays, students can participate in reading spirit days! Check out the calendar below for the Friday themes! Finally, we will be having reading celebrations, kicking off One School One Book, participating in a March Madness Reading Bracket, and inviting guest readers to read to our students! #aesreads
SOARing to 100 Million Words Read: We are so excited to share that we have reached over 75 million words read as a school! We will be celebrating on Friday, March 6th with a special event that the students have been looking forward to all year. Multiple roles of fancy duct tape are coming to Alward to allow students to duct tape Mrs. McClure to the wall!
March Madness Reading Bracket: Check out our March Reading Bracket and read as many books on the list! Students will participate in voting for their favorite books when they go to the library with Mrs. Fellows! Happy reading! #aesreads

Amazon Smiles: We now have an account set up with Amazon to collect a donation whenever anyone shops at smile.amazon.com with this link:
https://smile.amazon.com/ch/38-3393971
It's the same Amazon, same items, same prices. But when users check out through this link, we get 0.5% of their purchase donated back to PTC. Such an easy way to earn money for our school!
Box Tops Collection: We used to collect box tops, count them and mail them in. Our school would earn money in return. The Box Top Program is changing slightly, stay tuned for more details! You can still save those box tops, but there will be a new way for us to get credit for them!
Family Fare Receipts: Save your Family Fare Receipts and turn them in to the office. That's it! So Easy! Our volunteer team will enter them. When we reach $150,000, we earn $1,000 for our school!
Paper Gator: Did you know our school has a paper gator? It is located on the east side of the building in the bus loop. Feel free to drop off the below items at your convenience. *Did you know that we serve breakfast everyday? Breakfast is available from 8:30am-8:45am in the cafeteria for all students. Please see the attachment below for all the details.
Reminders from the Office
Late/Tardies: All students coming in to the building after 8:50am, need to be signed in by a parent/guardian. If they are not signed in, they will receive an unexcused tardy.
End of day changes: We know that things come up and sometimes families have to make changes to how their kids are going home. Please make your best effort to let the office know of these changes before 3:00pm. The office is very busy at the end of day, and changes after 3pm are difficult to communicate to the classroom teacher. Thank you for your help with this!
