The Carleton Chronicle
An update from Carleton Middle School
Greetings from Carleton
We would like to take a moment to welcome back our students, parents, and teachers to Carleton Middle School. If you are new to Carleton, for whatever reason, welcome! We are thrilled to have you with us and look forward to a tremendous year. One of the many ways we hope to communicate with you throughout the school year is by using the "Carleton Chronicle," our weekly email newsletter with information about our school. The goal of this document is to be a quick, one page weekly update, to inform you about what is happening at your child's school. We hope you enjoy it and will take time to read about the great things happening in our school.
We also have a school Twitter account @CarletonColts and a Remind account that we send out information on a regular basis. Lastly, we send out School Messenger emails and phone calls to remind you of important dates and school functions. Please make sure we have updated contact information so you do not miss out.
If we can do anything to help your son or daughter make a smooth transition to middle school or Carleton in general, please do not hesitate to reach out to a trusted adult.
Thank you and we look forward to a terrific school year.

Let me start by giving a warm welcome to all of the new members of our Carleton Family and a welcome back to all those of you who are returning for another exciting year.
I want to first express how proud I am of all of our students. The students are routinely seen helping each other in the halls, and getting to class on time. At our grade level meetings I encouraged our students to ask their parents to pull forward in the parking lot and be ready to get out of the car when stopped to help with our flow of traffic. This provides a clear lane for our busses to exit and keeps traffic off of 15 Mile Road. The next day, I saw students asking their parents to pull up and hopping quickly out of their cars. Thank you! Keep it up.
I am also very excited to announce that we will be placing an emphasis on the importance of practicing punctuality and during September, which is attendance month. All students who have excellent attendance during the four weeks beginning September 11th will be entered into a drawing to grab cash in a money machine provided by The Extra Credit Union. Please have conversations at home about the importance of coming to school and being on time during this next month.
