Woven in Time: The Narragansett Salt Pond Preserve
Saturday, January 30, 1 pm, Glocester Manton Library
Filmmaker Marc Levitt will present his documentary film about the remains of a pre-contact coastal village on the southern coast of Rhode Island. Learn about one of the most important archeological sites on the East Coast of the United States, the legal battles over the land, and the most unlikely alliances formed to preserve this beautiful territory. Call to register at 568-6077.

Monday, January 4, 4:30 pm, Harmony Library
Ages 5-8 are invited to learn about the different North American birds that inhabit their backyards and then make a fun bird feeding treat to bring home to them.

Children will "taste" a variety of books according to their reading levels, as well as enjoy a yummy snack and take home a dessert they create!

Sandcastle fun, "cool" treats, and Beach Blanket Bingo, ending the program with a Sunshine Pinata!

Heard about the adult coloring craze? In addition to being fun, grown-up coloring has been shown to reduce stress and increase relaxation. Grades 6-12 are invited to hang out in the teen area and try it out. You will use Prismacolor's artist pencils and a variety of coloring books, including Lost Ocean, Dapper Animals, and Day of the Dead. Pizza will be provided as an after school snack. CODING FOR MINECRAFT
Saturday, January 2, 12:30 pm- 2:30 pm, Glocester Manton Library
Ages 9-14 - Come learn how to use code to summon lightning bolts with a bow and arrow or build giant rainbows in the Minecraft world! This workshop introduces coding concepts by showing students how to build or change (e.g. mod) the game using code based on the Javascript programming language.

Participants develop their writing skills by reading published memoirs, writing short essays, and sharing their writing with the group, led by Writing Coach Pat Kenny. Writers are encouraged to attend one meeting to see if the group is a good match for their writing goals.

Yoga relieves stress and chronic pain and promotes strength, flexibility, and mindfulness. Tracy, a yoga instructor for 15 years, specializes in teaching beginners. The first class is free. There is a $5 fee for subsequent classes. Space for this class is limited and pre-registration is required.
