A Weekly Look at Grant Elementary School & the Grant PTA

Week of November 12, 2019

A Message From Principal Grey

Dear Grant Community,

Happy Parent/Teacher conference season! This is a great time of year to connect with your student's teachers and reflect on their progress throughout the first trimester. The partnering of parent and teacher is vital to student success and we are very grateful for the opportunity to meet with you to discuss your student's growth, goals and any hopes you have for your child headed into the next trimester of school.

Our goal as educators is to support our students in every way that we can academically, socially and emotionally. Thank you for trusting us here at Grant to share in the education of your child. We know how important our role is and are looking forward to conferencing with you over the next two weeks!

Sincerely,
Ms. Grey

Lost & Found

The Grant Lost & Found pile is growing. Please come get your nice things! All items in the Lost and Found are donated at Winter break.

Grant Cares, Donation Drive Underway

The Grant Cares team is collecting gift cards in the office to help some of our Grant families that may find the upcoming holidays a financial struggle. To help ease the burden, they've placed a heart shaped box in the office for gift card donations. If you are in the position to help, they're looking for gift cards to Target, Chevron, Old Navy or Trader Joe's in small increments, like $20 to $25, so that they can spread your gifts out to different families. Thank you for your support.

Emergency Kits Needed ASAP

If we learned anything in October, it's that we need to be prepared. Let's get moving on your child's emergency kit. Please put some food items that will hold up for a while (granola bars, beef jerky, apple sauce packets etc...along with a note to your child) in a zip lock back labeled with your child's name. Teachers are collecting these kits to keep in a designated spot in class - just in case. If you need the PTA to make a kit for your child, please reach out to Kelly kellygarzelli@gmail.com
