Anyone attending must wear a mask at all times and perform a pre-admittance self-evaluation, inclusive of a temperature check at the door. Anyone who does not comply will be turned away at the door.
- We ask that you arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of the meeting.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK READS
While this year has proven to be challenging, with many of our traditions cancelled or rescheduled, we are proud to announce that our schools will once again partner with the South Brunswick Public Library to continue our tradition. For the eleventh year, we invite members of the community to engage in a common reading experience called South Brunswick Reads (SB Reads).
Last year, inspired by the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, we encouraged readers to ignite their passions and embrace the future with Mission: Possible! This year, we ask our community to look for a personal bright spot as we read for ‘Silver Linings’, proving that, while we are forced to physically stay apart, our community can stay strong by sharing the silver linings we find inside great books.
Together we will:
share books with characters who face challenges with grit and determination
explore new worlds beyond our current limits
inspire readers to immerse themselves in a great book
At each school level, this might look a little different. Our elementary school readers might ask the question, “What is a silver lining?“ “How do people find a silver lining of their own?” Teachers and librarians will use books to guide our youngest readers to find their own ‘silver linings’. Crossroads will continue their One Book event tradition by selecting a title that features a character who is able to find a silver lining despite challenges. At the high school, our students will be asked to reflect on their own silver linings of the past year and recommend a book that speaks to or represents their experiences in some way.
South Brunswick Reads Silver Linings launch video outlines our readings to date and explains our newest selection.
Finally, our bookmark contest will move online. Students can create artwork that captures the SB Reads Silver Linings theme. The winning entries will be posted to the district’s homepage for all to see.
For more information on reading SB Reads, see your Library Media Specialist or go to our SB Reads Site: https://sites.google.com/sbschools.org/SBReads
Happy reading!
