Principal's Perspective
Vol. #2 Sept. 21, 2015
Dear Skyline Family,
Back to School Night
Thank you to the families who came to Back to School Night! Teachers were excited to share their classrooms with you, as well as all of the wonderful activities and field trips they have planned this year. One important topic that was discussed during Back to School Night was parent/teacher conferences. Conferences will occur this year on Oct. 21-22. If you were unable to attend Back to School Night, please be sure to contact your child’s teacher about signing up for a conference slot.
PTA
Thank you to all of the parents/guardians who attended the PTA/Foundation Meeting last Thursday. This is one easy and painless way to be involved in your child’s education. There is a $15 individual/($25 couple fee), and you decide how involved you can be. There are lots of events and activities that you can volunteer for, as well as “behind the scenes” needs. Additionally, this is a great community that is very welcoming! It will take no time to become an active member and voice for your school!
Spirit Fridays
We are so proud of Skyline, that we celebrate our School Spirit every Friday! Students and staff are encouraged to wear their Skyline gear, (or our school colors, yellow and blue), to school every Friday. We also have our school announcements and Golden Eagle drawings on Friday afternoons! The PTA is selling shirts, and will be ordering more soon. Just let Chris in the office know if you need to purchase a shirt.
Principal Coffee Chat
Please join me on Oct. 2, 2015 @ 9:00, to have an informal conversation about Skyline. These meetings are intended to inform parents about their school, and may focus on topics like: District priorities, changes in curriculum, or school initiatives. Here are some more reasons to attend a Coffee Chat:
· To stay informed
· Open communication between parents and principal
· Ask questions
· Meet other parents
· Engage in learning
Have you opted in to School Messenger? In order to receive the most up to date information about PPS and Skyline, you must opt in to receiving texts from School Messenger. Simply text the word YES to 68453 (put this number where you would normally type in a phone number). I will send important information out most quickly using texts.
Thank you for sending such exceptional students to school!
