From the Principal
Dear Copeland Families,
We had such a great first week back after the break. The students all seemed so excited to be back together, and I missed them all so much!
As a reminder, students begin entering our building at 7:45, and school begins at 8:05. We give everyone a grace period of five extra minutes and do not mark students tardy unless they arrive after 8:10. If your child arrives after 8:10, please come into the building with them to sign them in. We have had an increase in tardy students as of late. Please help us by having your child here on time each day! If the bus is late, students are never marked as tardy. Also, if your child is a car rider, please remain in the car rider line rather than parking on the street and walking your child, as this poses a safety concern.
Please mark your calendars for our 3rd grade program to be held in the Copeland cafeteria on January 14th at 6:30. We will start with a general PTO meeting at 6:15 that evening, then Mrs. Vigil has a real treat in store for us all. The students have been practicing hard, and it will be a great show! Marco’s Spirit Night will also be Tuesday, Jan. 14th, and our 2nd grade students have the opportunity to take their pizza home in the box they decorated that night. So fun! We have a holiday for staff and students in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day on Monday, Jan. 20th. We hope everyone enjoys the nice, long weekend. Chick-fil-A Spirit Night will be Wednesday, Jan. 22nd with our 5th grade team hosting. Report cards will go home on Friday, Jan. 24th.
We have had many calls inquiring about spring break dates. Spring break will be here before we know it! The dates that students will be off are March 9 – 13.
I am so blessed to be here at such a wonderful school! Thanks to all of you for your support of Copeland.
