JULY 2020
GREETINGS NP3 MIDDLE FAMILIES:
We ARRRGH looking forward to a new year and connecting with each of you. We are amidst of a world of change and we know communication is important during this time. We would like to share information and some of the details about what to expect for the beginning of the school year. We also plan to communicate throughout July regarding additional updates.
HYBRID LEARNING MODEL: SCHEDULE INFO
Hybrid Instruction uses a blended approach to teaching and learning. A blended approach includes both onsite instruction mixed with distance learning. In this model students would be split into two groups; each group would learn onsite two days weekly and offsite three days weekly. Although students would have movement between classes, student cohorts would be used whenever possible. For example, grade levels would be split into two sides for core classes. This model reflects less risk than the full return model according to health and safety standards, thus allowing for more flexibility within the onsite learning environment. Some of the details regarding scheduling include:
- The A schedule includes onsite learning Mondays and Tuesdays and offsite learning Wednesday thru Friday.
- The B schedule includes onsite learning Thursdays and Fridays and offsite learning Monday thru Wednesday.
- Most students will be assigned to A and B schedules by way of last name. Currently students with last name beginning with A-L will be assigned to the A schedule, while M-Z will be assigned to the B schedule. Please note student placement is ongoing, as there are exceptions to scheduling in this manner, for example: keeping students of the same families together, carpool considerations, and students with special needs. When scheduling is finalized, it will be shared with all of you. We know it's important for you to have this information as soon as possible.
DISTANCE LEARNING MODEL: SCHEDULE INFO
- Student learning will take place offsite Monday thru Friday
MIDDLE SCHOOL FAMILY SURVEY
