Above is the screen shot image of "Sochi" typed into Google.com at school.

In this screenshot I typed in "Sochi" on my cell phone.

I notice my search results are very similar but different in order. Due to the georgraphic location of both where my school is and where I typed in Sochi on my phone I figured the results were going to be similar. As you review the screenshots there are a few more results given on the school computer. Due to the constant research of "Twitter" on my school computer for projects, that result surfaced on the school computer over my phone. I believe your results are centered around your previous searches, what interests you and of course your geograhical location. My oldest brother in California would have very different google results if he typed in "Sochi" out on the west coast.

When I typed "Evan Pantels" on google some information came up that didn't surprise me. As I have played football and hope to continue my football career in college I figured some football recruiting information would appear. I can't say I’m too upset with this information being open to the public because it sure does help my exposure as a potential college football player. Anytime a coach typed in my name, a couple recruiting websites and various highlight film is easily accessible for them. I also think it's pretty cool to have the Online Gwinnett Daily Post and other websites with my name in it discussing about my previous performance in games. Throughout all this information, one link appears that bothers me. The White Pages is a website open to the public that can tell you where you live and how many people with that name currently live in the United States. With my father’s Latvian roots it’s not common to have the last name "Pantels". In fact, I am the only person in the United States, with my parents that live in the United States with the last name "Pantels". My address or very personal information isn't viewable on the website but the fact alone that it states I live in Georgia bothers me and that the internet exposes that I am the only one with that last name. Overall I would say that having my information like this viewable to the public is better for my future and won't lead to any harm done.
