Hello Bears!
Need some ideas for those hot summer days? Besides camps at area businesses, churches, and sport organizations, here is a list of low cost or free activities you can look into.
*Both the Wylie and Sachse Public Libraries, as well as local bookstores, have many fun activities scheduled for this summer. Check out their websites for more information.
*The DFW area has many fabulous museums and many of them offer free general admission days with activities geared toward kids. This is a great time to enjoy wonderful artwork and fun hands-on experiences with your family.
*Visit the websites of our local area parks and cities. Many of them offer free summer movie nights and concerts in the park. Fun for the whole family!
*You can also find a list of other summer activities (many free) by visiting www.aroundtownkidsplano.com.

Nurse Abby...
Happy May!
All medication must be picked up from the clinic by Thursday, May 24th at 12:30pm. Medication will not be sent home in a backpack, unless prior arrangements have been made. I cannot put controlled substances in backpacks, they must be picked up. Please stop by the clinic during normal school hours anytime to pick up the medication. Any medication left in the clinic after May 24th will be destroyed. Please contact me by email or phone for specific arrangements that need to be made.
It has been a great first school year for me, and I have enjoyed building a relationship with your child.

From the Library…
Attention parents: All books should be turned into the library now. I will be sending out emails and notices on Friday to any students who still have books checked out. Please check email and your child's backpack to see if your student might have one of the books we are missing.
If you have lost or have damaged books you can cover that cost 2 ways:
- Send exact change or check made out to "Birmingham Elementary"
- Bring some of the following items in to cover the cost of the book(s)
Bring canned goods to be donated to Christian Care Center: $2.00 off per can
Bring canned dog/cat food to be donated to Wylie Animal Shelter: $2.00 off per can
If books are not returned or paid for, your child will be not be able to check out books at the beginning of next year. Please make payment for books owed or bring the exchange items and turn them in as quickly as possible. We want all students to start the year with a clear record so they can enjoy using the library and checking out books.
Thank you and have a fabulous weekend!
