A Message from the Principal
Lauren Meeks
February 1, 2019
Dear Parents,
We've had another great week of learning at Parkside! We are already into the month of February, which is hard to believe!
We had a fun afternoon at the Nachos and Numbers event. Many thanks to all who helped put this together including our wonderful volunteers! Our students had a lot of fun!
Our morning carpool procedures are running more smoothly. We have a traffic safety committee that met this week to identify areas we can improve. Thank you again for your patience as we try to improve our traffic flow. Again, we ask that you please use 2nd-5th grade Parent Drop off near the portables for dropping off students who are in 2nd-5th grade, and not the front of the school. This will allow for our K-1 parents to use this area for dropping off their little ones. Kinder and first grade should use the K-1 Parent Drop off. Also, if you are using one of the Parent Drop off areas, we ask you pull forward to allow more cars to come in. We will also have more safety patrol students to help with opening car doors for our students. Thank you for working with us to ensure our kids get to school safely!
This time of year it is very important to make sure we are all doing our part to prevent the spread of germs! This includes good hand washing, covering our coughs, and keeping students home if they are sick. If they are sent home from school for a fever of 100.0 F or above, or any other contagious symptoms (vomiting, diarrhea, etc.) they will need to remain home for 24 hours symptom free without the use of medicine. Thank you for your help in keeping our Mustangs healthy!
As always, thank you for partnering with us and sharing your sweet children with us every day.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Eric, Maggie, and Marianne
