Podcasting in the Classroom
If you're interested in having your students participate but need ideas for how to have students record on Chromebooks, check out this article that I found last week: "Five Apps Students Can Use To Make Podcasts" from KQED. HOWEVER, please note that not all of the apps listed here are approved (Anchor, for example). Always check Ed Frameworks before using a new tool with students.
The contest closes on March 24, 2020, so don't wait too long! Good luck to anyone who enters!
Introducing Jamboard
Since introducing Jamboard in 2016, Google now has it as an app for G Suite that our teachers (NOT students) in Forsyth County can access through their FCS Google account (go to the "waffle" in Drive - you might need to scroll down). If you have a touchscreen device, you could open a Jam on your device AND on your panel and then use your device to write, draw, or annotate while seeing it appear live on the panel
Get more information at Google's training center, Welcome to Your First Day of Jamboard, or watch the intro video below! Do you think you might use this? Share how on this Jam by adding a sticky note!
Get a Navigator for Your Meetings
Even better than a shared Google Doc, Navigator allows you to give every discussion a purpose, to discuss recurring topics, and revisit topics without losing the context. Even better, Navigator will email participants BEFORE the meeting to collect items to visit and AFTER the meeting with the notes.
Navigator can sync will all of your calendars (for real, I have all three of my main accounts together!) so that you can easily get everyone on the same page from your calendar appointments.
The best part? Navigator is free! Take a look and get started today (Navigator help docs here)!
