Horicon Elementary Newsletter
October 2023 Edition
Principal's Perspective
Dear Horicon Families,
It’s hard to believe it’s already October! It’s amazing to see the learning and growth happening every day. We had a great start to our year and appreciate all you do to partner with the school. Whether you are encouraging your child to read at home, show kindness to their classmates, dress appropriately for the weather, or so many other things, we truly appreciate your efforts! We are looking forward to parent-teacher conferences and the opportunity to discuss your child’s progress and how we can continue to work together.
There is so much learning happening every day at Horicon Elementary! Students are excited to talk about what they are reading. Please ask your child what they are reading and what they like about their book. You can really tell when they are hooked! Students are also exploring new math concepts and working with hands-on materials to help develop a better understanding of the concept. Deep thinking and questioning are happening at high levels in every classroom.
We are looking forward to a positive, productive year of learning and growing together. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
Sincerely,
Lisa Sawyer
Horicon Elementary Principal
