Crazy Doc's rant and raves...
Two weeks down and now we know we will not be returning to school this year. Current word from the district is that more information will come down next week about students picking up their stuff, returning devices, Explore, and giving teachers the chance to work in their room.
During this time we will all have grief and sadness over what is lost, it is okay to show your students that you are sad with them but they are also going to need you to pick them up and support them during this time. Please reach out if I can be of any support to you.
Thank you so much for stepping out of your comfort zones to make this happen and support our community through this time and the massive levels of uncertainity.
Please make sure you are reading the SPS at Home daily annoucements, there is so much information in these annoucements to support you as you are adapting to this new way of learning.
- If at anytime in this process you need extra support with students, or need phone calls made, please reach out to Jill, Dr. T, Casey or myself.
- If you need Canvas help, please reach out to Martha or Jill
- If you have any questions remaining please feel free to reach out.
Teacher Spotlight
All the teachers! It was amazing to visit with you this week and hear everything you are doing to help your students during this time and your concern for the students you are not seeing.
I encourage you to send text/email/snail mail/phone call to one of your teammates this week. Tell them how great they are doing!
Do you have a idea for a person in the spotlight? Please let me know.
OM
One thing I have been able to make time for is yoga and meditation. When Sawyer goes down for his morning nap, I unroll my mat and allow myself to de-stress, stretch, and spend time focusing on the here and now. It allows me to remember I am safe, healthy, and secure. For anyone interested, Groupon has a couple of great online yoga options. There's a three month option of unlimited online yoga classes for $5 and a year of unlimited yoga for $15. I bought the year subscription several months ago and I am finally able to utilize this awesome resource. There are tons of classes and styles at all levels, from beginners to advanced.
What are you doing to support yourself during this time? Please email me (Tarrasch) with pictures, suggestions, ideas, etc and I will share them in next week's Smore.
Namaste Bingham!
