Hispanic Heritage Month

Hispanic Heritage Month is observed annually from September 15 to October 15. It is a time to appreciate and celebrate the colorful cultures, rich histories, and diversity of the American Latino community.

Esports

NISD Esports Scholastic League held their Pre-Season Kick-Off event this past Saturday at the Northside Activity Center. Students were able to meet their coaches and enjoy free play and mini tournaments! Health Careers will have their first team meeting this Thursday, September 15th, at 4:30 PM in Mr. Nickel's room (217). It is free to join and play! Information and permission forms will be given. A mini Smash Bros tournament will be held! If you are interested in finding out more information, please speak with Mr. Nickel or Mrs. Wilber. District wide competitive events will be held in both December and April for those who are interested in competing in Smash Bros Ultimate and Rocket League. Let's show the other High Schools who's the best!

Dress Code

Thank you to our student body and parents for helping us all follow the dress code. Overall, we are doing a great job. However, we are still seeing some violations, including:

Midriffs

Holes in jeans above the knees

Shirts that are shorter than mid thigh

Spandex/leggings

If you have any questions, please reach out to us.

Food Deliveries

We will not accept any deliveries for students except from parents. Parents, due to allergy concerns and COVID, we ask that you bring food for ONLY your child.

Attendance

Students who are absent need to bring in their notes to the front office within 3 days of the absence. Parents can email a note at hchs.attendance@nisd.net or send it in with the student.

Students should not have any unexcused absences. Juniors and seniors will not be eligible for off campus lunch if there are any unexcused absences on their record.
