Character First Trait for November: Courage

Love and Logic~A Salute to Veterans and their Families

The sun rose again this morning, this day adorned in hues of red, pink and orange. Like all the days of our lives it rose on a nation blessed with freedom: freedom from tyranny within and from conquest beyond. Today the light again dawned on a nation where we remain free to speak our minds, raise our families in ways we believe best, choose who or what to worship, participate in government and so much more.

We continue to enjoy the light of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness because of the sacrifices made by veterans and their families. You have walked through the dark places for us. You have battled so that we have not had to. You have bled so that our blood was not shed. You offered it all so that we could remain free.

Veterans, we love you and honor you.

Let us never take for granted the sacrifices made by these brave men and women. Let the rising of the sun each day remind us of their unwavering commitment to protect the nation we love.
