HFRCS Newsletter SY2021-2022

May 3, 2022 - Vol.1 Issue 37

From the Principal's Office

Dear Parents and Guardians,

During this week when we celebrate National Teacher Appreciation, we ask for the continued prayers and support of our dedicated teachers and staff. Our teachers have a commitment to Catholic education and the care of our students that is unmatched. Please join me in thanking them for all they do every day for our students and families!

This Friday our 8th grade will be hosting a school-wide Bingo Day! The theme of this year’s Bingo Day is “Under the Sea!” We are offering a $1 dress down day for students who wish to dress in their maritime best! Games and snacks will be sold as well. Please see this newsletter for more information about Bingo Day. All proceeds from Bingo Day go toward the 8th grade legacy gift to the school.

On Saturday, our 3rd -grade students from St. Frances Cabrini Parish will receive Jesus for the first time at their First Holy Communion Mass at 11:00 AM. Please pray for them on this most special and sacred milestone of their faith formation!

Next Thursday, May 12, we will celebrate the month of Mary with our annual May Procession. Students will begin processing in the front of school to the church at 1:00 PM. Our prayer service will begin at approximately 1:15 PM. Please join us if your schedule permits, as we honor the Blessed Mother in this most special way.

SAVE THE DATE! Please reserve Thursday evening, May 19 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM as Holy Family presents their Art Show: The Artists Among Us. Artwork from all grade levels will be displayed! To make the viewing fun, the art show is set up in the form of a scavenger hunt! You won’t want to miss this event that showcases the artistic talent here at Holy Family!

Our Lenten service project of collecting baby supplies for the Blessed Margaret Castello Home was gratefully received! Please see the letter of gratitude from the Home in this newsletter.

Sincerely Yours in Christ,

Mrs. Haggerty

Message from the Nurse's Office

The School Health Law requires physical examinations for those on original entry into school and in grade 6. Dental examinations are required for those on original entry into school and in grades 3 and 7. These grades were selected because they represent critical periods of growth and development in a child's life.

Forms were sent home last week for students currently in 2nd grade (dental), 5th grade (physical exam), and 6th grade (dental) in preparation for the health requirements for the 2022-2023 school year. Forms can also be found on the school website: https://hfrcs.org/nurses-office

Please have your child's physician or dentist complete the form on your next visit. Completed forms can be sent back to the school any time until the start of the 2022-2023 school year.

Thank you to those who have already returned the forms for the coming school year.

Mrs. Barbara McKnight, School Nurse

From the Enrollment Office

As we try to expand our online reach, we kindly ask parents and friends of the school to consider leaving a positive review of Holy Family on Google and/or Niche, a rank and review website that focuses on institutions that are integral to our communities. These reviews are often a prospective family's first introduction to Holy Family Regional Catholic School and if we can successfully portray all of the wonderful things going on at the school through these reviews, then I'm sure we'll grow our community even more! Thank you so much ahead of time for your support and please do not ever hesitate to reach out with any questions regarding the enrollment process here at Holy Family.
