Welcome Back

Can you believe summer is over? It sure has flown by. I hope you all had time to relax and enjoy time with family, friends and pets. I have loved seeing all the selfies on Twitter. Thanks so much for participating in your NPE Summer Selfie Bingo. We also appreciate all of you who participated in all the professional learning opportunities-whether it was our Thirst for Knowledge challenge, Summer Science Institute, Summer Math Institute, Behavior 101, What's Trending and other PL. Teachers are life long learners just like our students.

We will be sending out agendas for next week later this week. Please make sure you have a Twitter account set up before you return. We will be using it on Monday! We look forward to seeing you all on Monday morning!

District Compensation

CCISD has approved a 2% raise for professional employees and a 3% raise for paraprofessional and auxiliary employees. The school board also approved an additional $500,000 to help offset the exponential increase in health care premiums. This is for employees who currently use our health care benefits. The salary and compensation increases are funded through local dollars since the legislature failed to add any new money for public education

Open Enrollment

Complete by August 18!

CCISD Benefits Enrollment is Open until August 18. There are many changes to TRS Active Care Select Plan that participating employees need to review. Please make sure they read the CCISD Benefits Newsletter and/or attend one of the several meetings being offered to discuss the changes.

Single Sign On

Effective this school year, students and staff will have the ability to finally have single-sign-on access to all their applications and online textbooks. Encore is a system which will personalize a dashboard based on a student's registered courses and associated platforms (ie: itsLearning, Skyward, Office365) without having to log into each one separately. The same holds true for employees, in all departments. For students, when they click on the @school icon on www.ccisd.net, they will be prompted to login to Encore once. For employees, they will click on @work.

Technology updates

Sue Witt will be working part-time this year and North Pointe will be her only campus! She will be here two days a week. I will share that schedule with you soon.

We will be getting new phones in September or October. One benefit of the new phones is that you can place or receive phone calls on your cell phone with the CCISD phone number.

Remember to be on the lookout for phishing emails. CCISD will never ask for your password, etc. If you are suspicious of an email, don't click on it and get help.

We will be getting 4-6 black and white printers in the fall. They will be replacing the oldest printers with the most usage. Color printers will be eventually replaced. Please continue to be mindful of your printer usage. Xerox is always the first choice. Be sure to use secure print and release it quickly. The goal is to strive to be paperless.

Sue will be sharing more information about it's learning and skyward during our inservice week.

Clear Creek Education Foundation

Jump on the Bus Campaign

Once again, CCEF is asking for employee contributions to help support the foundation. You can give through open enrollment. 50% of giving will go back to campus in the form of mini grants or a check if no one applies for a mini-grant. You can donate as little as $1.00 per paycheck or you can do a one-time donation. Please consider supporting the CCEF.
