SOAR at Home
Mrs. Richardson's 3rd - 6th Grade SOAR Classes 04/13/20
Hello SOAR students and families!
I would love to hear from you!!! Send a picture to me! Have you done one of the activities in my newsletters? What are your favorite games to play with your family? Have you read any good books? Have you cooked or baked anything delicious? Contact me, either by email or phone.
The purpose of this newsletter is to check in with you and to give you some ideas for ways to keep your brain challenged during these weeks at home. Everything is totally optional, but I hope you find something useful to you!
Brainstorm of the Week: Make a list of sounds you would hear in a grocery store.
STEM Activity
Did you launch any cotton balls last week? This week, can you keep an egg safe by making a Parachute?

A Recipe to Try...
My Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies
makes about 4 dozen
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine, softened
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs or equivalent (I use 3 tsp. Egg Replacer mixed with 4 Tbsp. water)
1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour (or more all-purpose flour)
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. sea salt
1 cup of your favorite chocolate chips
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix sugars, margarine, vanilla, and egg equivalent in large bowl. Stir in flours, baking soda, and salt. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop dough by rounded spoons full, about two inches apart onto pizza stone or ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 - 10 minutes or until golden brown.
I can share some of your favorite recipes, too! Send them my way!
