Sra. Falcon
This is my 7th year teaching immersion math at Highland! I love working with 6th graders and am looking forward to a wonderful year ahead. I got my BA in Mathematics from the University of Minnesota where I also got my teaching license and I am super excited to be working on my MA in Educational Technology at Concordia.
One of my passions is incorporating the use of technology as a tool in the classroom and preparing our students for the 21st century! I am a techie at heart!
I have 4 awesome kids with my lovely husband who I love spending my time with. I also love everything music related...listening to it, singing and dancing.
This will be a great year where your student will learn new math skills and find a new enjoyment for math!

Student Work
Highland Park Middle School
The 6th grade Pumas are part of a larger Spanish Immersion Program. Students have been enrolled in SI classes since kindergarten and continue to receive instruction in the target language. Math classes are taught fully in Spanish and students are expected to communicate with me and each other using it. In middle school, we do begin to create a bridge to connect their math knowledge in Spanish to their future classes taught in English so I make sure that vocabulary that is significant for these courses and that differs greatly from the Spanish term is available for the students to learn.
I also teach the Algebra 1 class for the Lobos 8 students. I had the opportunity to teach these students when they were in 6th grade math so I get to see them again this year and work together to see how much they have learned and grown!
