Howell Limelight Theatre To Present "Radium Girls"
Francis Howell High School’s award-winning Limelight Theatre proudly presents their Fall 2019 production of the award winning, New York times best-selling play, Radium Girls.
Radium Girls, by playwright D.W Gregory, traces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she fights for her day in court. Her chief adversary is her former employer, Arthur Roeder, an idealistic man who cannot bring himself to believe that the same element that shrinks tumors could have anything to do with the terrifying rash of illnesses among his employees. As the case goes on, however, Grace finds herself battling not just with the U.S. Radium Corporation, but with her own family and friends who fear that her campaign for justice will backfire.
Performances of Radium Girls will take place November 8th and 9th at 7:00pm (doors open at 6:30pm) and on November 10th at 2:00pm (doors open at 1:30pm) in the Howell Theatre. Tickets are $5.00 per person and are available at the door. We invite our Friday and Saturday night audiences to stay after the show and participate in a talk back session with the cast and our student dramaturgs. We will be discussing the themes of the show and their relevance to the Greater St. Louis area.
Francis Howell High School Thespian Troupe 1917 will also be collecting non-perishable food items to be donated to OASIS Food Pantry.
Questions regarding this exciting performance can be directed to our Drama Director, Jessica Brunts at Jessica.Brunts@fhsdschools.org.
