Math
Spiral review continues in our classroom to accompany and supplement us in our math studies. This review allows us to keep past lessons and clusters taught fresh in our brain. We use this review daily M-Tr as a quick 15-20 minute daily review.
English/Language Arts
We are finishing our time before Spring Break looking at text structure and comparing/contrasting with nonfiction. Once we return from Spring Break, we will focus on various forms of poetry and how to analyze a poem. This will be our last big focus before we begin review for EOGs.
In writing, we will write various forms of poetry. Of course, we will continue to work on mechanics including compound sentences, quotation marks, comma usage, and overall punctuation, capitalization, and spelling.
Science
We have just wrapped up our large cluster study on Minerals, Rocks, Soil and Fossils.
As we begin our new cluster study on Environmental Changes, Adaptations & Behaviors that Affect Survival we will deeply examine and investigate the following things:
1. How changes in an organisms environment can be both beneficial and harmful and be able to give examples of each.
2. Explain how animals meet their needs by using behaviors in response to information received from the environment.
3. Be able to explain how as humans we can adapt our behaviors to be able to live in changing habitats.
4. Know how to explain the difference among animals of the same population sometimes gives individuals an advantage in surviving and reproducing in changing in habitats.
