Soaring Over MDE

Super Bowl Week!

Sun is out...

What a beautiful week! I was a little worried that we would not see the sun for quite a while with the rain that was predicted at the end of last week...thankfully meteorologists are still not the best predictors of weather :) I am also not too sure about Punxsutawney Phil predicting 6-more weeks of winter!

Thank you to EVERYONE (over 40 families) that donated ream(s) of paper! Each student whose family donated paper will be receiving a fun little "Thank You" incentive during their next materials pick-up date. We did not make the 1,000 ream goal that I had hoped for...BUT, we did get over 200-reams donated! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

TK/Kindergarten Registration was an amazing success! Our office manager, Alma organized an almost flawless day! (The only flaw was that it was cold! Something even Alma cannot control!) Our team of Alma, Marianne, Patrick, Roger, Misty, Loretta, and Louie did a fantastic job and kept everyone safe and efficient. I really hope we will get to see the new little eagles ON the campus next year!

Please take a look at the Superintendent's Friday Letter. Wednesday, February 10th is the next board meeting.

Superintendent's Friday Letter

As a reminder, There is NO school, Friday, February 12 & Monday, February 15. They are holidays.

On a non-school note: I have to be honest...I am looking forward to the Super Bowl! My (pretend) boyfriend is playing in his 10th one! (My former students dubbed Tom Brady my pretend boyfriend about 15-years ago...It just stuck!) I also am a big fan of Patrick Mahomes II. While I do hope that Brady wins, I won't be too upset if Mahomes wins either!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend full of great food and sunshine!

We want to help you do a little Spring Cleaning! Please bring ALL your used (any condition) tennis shoes to the main office. We are participating in a sneaker recycling program. There is no limit to shoes (except that they must be tennis shoes of any brand.) We are working with to reduce the amount of old sneakers in our homes! (Collecting through February 28)

Our mission is to inspire the sneaker community to recycle and reuse quality pre-owned sneakers. Our sneaker drive fundraiser keeps sneakers out of landfills and reduces toxic chemicals from being released in our air and soil. All sneakers from our sneaker drive fundraiser program are recirculated to people who want quality, reusable footwear at affordable prices or repurposed into new surfaces such as playgrounds and tracks.
