Good evening! We had a blast celebrating our patroness, St. Monica, in prayer with you last week. We challenged our students to show acts of love and hospitality with their families. What were some of the ways your student modeled St. Monica at home? It's never too late to start!

1) Get Ready: Family Survey & Updates

Updates for Week 3

  • ENROLLMENT SURVEY We emailed an update on Friday for our Face to Face instruction phase-in. I have included our survey below. This is due Monday, Aug. 31.
  • MASS We are working on the sound to support Mass on Friday. A reminder that while we are virtual, Mass is at 8:15AM on Fridays--this Friday is our last at this time.
  • LAST FULL VIRTUAL WEEK This is our last full week following our virtual schedule for all. We will begin phasing in for PreK/K on Friday and 1st-8th next Wed, Sept. 9.

Welcome to Ms. Laura Ortiz!!

Show some love to our new Assistant Principal, Ms. Laura Ortiz! She officially became a dragon on St. Monica's feast day---divine providence if I do say so myself!


Starting Monday, Ms. Laura Ortiz will take over MS Math 6th-8th while we continue our long term search as well as supporting academic excellence efforts including academic intervention through Building Strong Foundations and advancing our mission.


Ms. Ortiz comes to us with a passion for the intersection of faith and academic excellence with a strong foundation teaching high school math as well as PreKindergarten. Most recently she served directly with our Superintendent in the Department of Catholic Schools driving the PreK4SA grant. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Educational Administration through the University of Notre Dame. We are blessed to have Ms. Ortiz's administrative and teaching experience to keep us firmly rooted in Christ!

PATIENT TRUST


Above all, trust in the slow work of God.


We are quite naturally impatient in everything to reach the end without delay.

We should like to skip the intermediate stages.

We are impatient of being on the way to something unknown, something new.


And yet it is the law of all progress

that it is made by passing through some stages of instability—

and that it may take a very long time.


And so I think it is with you;

your ideas mature gradually—let them grow,

let them shape themselves, without undue haste.


Don’t try to force them on,

as though you could be today what time

(that is to say, grace and circumstances acting on your own goodwill)

will make of you tomorrow.


Only God could say what this new spirit

gradually forming within you will be.


Give Our Lord the benefit of believing

that his hand is leading you,

and accept the anxiety of feeling yourself

in suspense and incomplete.
