Cheerful Art - 3D Color Wheels and Monochromatic 3D

Last week, Middle School Art kids created 3/D Color Wheels with found objects around the house, took a snapshot and shared their photos. This week, we're doing 3/D Monochromatic Art with found objects around the home and shared a photo of them. Miss Simpson (Art Teacher) shared some of the Monochromatic color schemes. Her email signature says, "Be Kind, Let's Shine."

Head of School Update

Our Head of School Gretchen Buscko shared with our school community yesterday, "It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that The Franklin Academy is under the newest mandate from Governor Inslee. We will be closed for the rest of the school year. I met (virtually) with all of my staff today and I can tell you that we are all devastated. Our students are our lifeblood and it will be hard to not physically meet for the remainder of the year, yet we remain committed to providing continuous learning opportunities throughout this extended closure."

The Learning Continues!

Mrs. Hedahl's Life Science Class

On Thursday in Life Science, the class played a Kahoot (on-line quiz software) on Zoom (meeting software) with the vocabulary words from their Ecosystems chapter. Mrs. Hedahl had made the Kahoot the night before and worked out the need for two screens and other logistics with Mr. Hedahl.

Mrs. Hedahl shared, "The students were very engaged, actually much more than when we normally review the vocabulary in class. Kris C. (Fortnite god) was consistently the top performer through all ten questions, although he faced some stiff competition from the rest of the seventh graders."

Check out the screenshot of their time together. Great kids with amazing technology!

Welcome to "Deep Thoughts with Chaplain Aaron!"

Below is a fun 6 minute overview of what I hope we will accomplish together here. In every video, we will have things to think about, talk about, and do. This week's discussion question is, "What 'binoculars' do you use to look at the world?" And, the week's service challenge is to leave a sidewalk drawing or encouraging saying for a neighbor to find. Watch the video for more info. Send me any thoughts you have (
