The GOLD Standard Reminders
HOMEROOM TEACHERS- Remember to start each day with the #QTNAas well as the fist to five check in! Make sure you use the check in to gauge where your students are at for the day. If any student is a 2 or below, use this as an opportunity to have an individual conversation with those students to let them know that you are there for them if they need you. Also explain to ALL students that if they see someone in their class that is a two or below, they should can help support that student and try to help make their day better by “Starting with HELLO.” We will also end the day with the fist to five check out! If a student is still at a two or below, try to send them home with some encouraging words!
Continue to hold students accountable for following the “Gold Standard”! If a class and/or student is still having trouble meeting the standard, continue to practice & re-teachthe expectations as necessary!

MTSS Reminders
MTSS is NOT a “verb”!
- MTSS is not a room.
- MTSS is not a process.
- MTSS is not a person.
- MTSS is not something we DO to students!
All Students & Teachers are part of CORE (or Tier 1)! CORE is what happens in our classrooms every single day, academically and behaviorally, vertically and horizontally throughout our buildings.
CORE Instruction is our ONLY & BESTPrevention to support all the students we serve!!
- At the CORE or Tier 1 level teachers can focuson the background of our students & student strengths and areas students need more work on!
- CORE instruction should be the STRONGEST Instruction that we have, because ALL students at CMS receive CORE Instruction!!!
The HEART of CORE Instruction is your PLC!! They are your support system! As a PLC, you should be discussing the “PLC Guiding Questions” linked HERE.
