Leader in Me Focus for the Month - Habit 1 be Proactive
November At Home Activity
This month’s Habit: Habit 1 Be Proactive
Activity: Stop & Think Diagram
Due Date: November 30th
2 Ways to Participate:
1. Complete the attached Stop & Think Diagram (It will also be coming home in Monday envelopes). To complete the activity, think about a situation that has happened at home and write about the situation on the diagram.
OR
2. Submit a video to Flipgrid. To submit a video click https://flipgrid.com/453843cd (please select login with Google to get to the response page). Here are some ideas for how to share your learning in the video:
- Act out your proactive response to a situation that you and a family may have had.
- Share in your video situations your family and you discussed about how to respond to situations in a proactive way instead of a reactive way.
Be creative! Your videos will be shared on morning announcements.
Habit 1 – Be Proactive – “I’m in Charge of Me”
What this means: Take charge of your own life. Make it happen. Don't wait for someone else to do it.
“I am responsible for me.”
“I do the right thing before I am asked.”
“I do the right thing even when no one is looking.”
“I do not blame others for my actions.”
How can I do this in my life?
1. If you do something wrong, say you are sorry before someone asks you to apologize.
2. When you get mad and want to say something, stop, think, and ask yourself-
Why am I getting so angry? Make a good choice in a good way.
