I hope everyone had a great spring break! We vacationed at Crystal Beach near Galveston. Unfoturnately, it was pretty chilly most of the time, but the views were beautiful and it was very relaxing. I plan to have all graded papers sent home this week from the last few weeks. So clean out those backpacks please!
The kids had a great time in PE before the break learning to square dance. They were so cute!
Look for lots of Starfest information coming to you this week. I'm sure the auction, wristbands, raffle tickets and all that good stuff will be explained and become available.
I will give accurate and detailed information regarding field trips as soon as I am told. We are trying to squeeze in a trip to the zoo in May. These kiddos are the group that got rained out in first grade, so we thought we would try and take them!
I have 2 dozen eggs ready for the incubator! It will stay at school and we will watch and document the changes and growth of the chicks. It takes about 21 days for them to hatch. So maybe around April 7?? I will keep the chicks for a little while (as long as I can stand it) and then they will return to the farm! Exciting days ahead!
Have a great week!
April McGhee
WHAT WE ARE LEARNING
LANGUAGE ARTS/SOCIAL STUDIES-We are now reading Charlotte's Web chorally. We loved watching Willie Wonka and comparing it to the book. Hopefully we will have time to do the same with this novel. We are reading about past traditions and culutres too. We will be learning about the Navajo Code Talkers this week. So cool! Look them up!
SCIENCE-We are in the midst of our space unit. We learned about the rotation of the earth and how it makes day, night and seasons. We will complete this unit this week and move into a unit on weather.
