Ohio’s Tests for 2015-2016
Ohio's goal is to assure students have the skills and knowledge necessary for success in career or future education. Ohio’s State Tests help to measure students’ progress. Click here to read more on test taking in Ohio.
Technology Skills and Readiness Resources for Ohio's New State Tests
Created and maintained by John Mansel-Pleydell, this site offers technology tools, question types, links to Ohio’s science and social studies PBA and EOY tests and answer keys, as well as other helpful links and resources listed in the tabs across the top. John has even added a link to Florida’s Practice AIR ELA and math tests to take online. Although Ohio is creating their own test, this will give a preview of what those questions may look like. I think this site has a lot to offer every educator as we prepare our students for Ohio’s State Tests.

Project Based Learning (PBL)
Do you know the difference between a dessert project and a main course project? Project Based Learning engages students at the onset of learning (main course) verses after learning takes place (dessert). Several of MVESC member districts recently sent a team of teachers to a three-day Project Based Learning training presented by a certified trainer from Buck Institute for Education. This program focuses on the four C’s; communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. Check out free resources from the Buck Institute at http://bie.org/.
Make Career Connections
Check out the Ohio Department of Education resources for hundreds of lessons and activities to make career connections within academic subject areas. The activities were developed by Ohio educators and can be viewed by subject, grade level and topic. http://education.ohio.gov/Topics/Career-Tech/Career-Connections/Lesson-Plans
