Halloween 10/29 Reminders

Hello Lincoln Families,

Please read these reminders for Halloween at Lincoln tomorrow:

  • Pumpkin Patch: Pumpkins will be sent home with students end of day on Friday, 10/29, or can be picked up outside door 1 after school on 10/29.

  • On Friday, October 29, students can wear their Halloween costumes to school. We encourage simple costumes that can be worn over clothes and removed easily and independently if needed. If students choose to bring their costumes to school, they need to be able to independently put it on in the classroom. Parents will not be able to come in to school to assist with make up or costumes this year. Masks that cover the face are not allowed. (However, students are expected to wear a face covering mask to school each day.) No violent costumes/fake weapons, or costumes with fake blood are allowed. Costume make-up is allowed as long as it does not cover the student's entire face. Staff members must be able to identify students.

  • There will be a morning Halloween parade for AM Kindy and grades 1-6 at 10:00 am. Classrooms will exit doors 2 and 3, parade down one side of Ridgewood and cross the street, and then enter back into the building through doors, 4, 5 and 6 depending on proximity to classrooms. (We are hearing there may be rain. We will alert families by 8 am tomorrow morning if the parade will commence or be canceled.)

  • PM Kindy will have an afternoon parade at 1:30 pm outside.(We will alert PM Kindy families if it is canceled.)

  • Again, If the weather does not cooperate, the parades will be canceled.

Thank you to PTA and Parent volunteers for providing an activity for our students on Halloween. Your time is appreciated! Thank you, PTA, for continuing our Lincoln tradition of The Pumpkin Patch.

Lunch Hours Update

Due to Test 2 Stay protocols that started this week, all students must eat unmasked at 6 feet. We have added more tables to the MPR and to the stage in order to keep our students 6 feet apart. Our next project will be to adjust the recess schedule to get classes outside again for 40 minutes instead of 20 minutes. Outside, masks are optional, but students need to stay 3 feet apart.

Kindness Day November 13, 2021

Since Kindness Day is on Saturday, 11/13/21, we will be sending home a flyer to color on Friday, 11/12/21. Students can also use chalk on the blacktop on Friday 11/12 to write messages of kindness. Link to hand out.

Conferences 2021

Conferences are coming up Monday, 11/22 from 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Tuesday, 11/23 from 7:00 am - 11:00 am. Parents must sign up for a 20 minute slot with the classroom teacher. Parents will need to be masked and sign in at the classroom door. Please be on time, as many teachers have tight conference schedules. No students are to attend conferences this year. If parents need to attend separately, the 20 minute slot can be split into 10 minute times for each parent. If you cannot make the conference on these dates, please schedule a phone conference on another date. Thank you.
