Volunteer help needed!
We need your help with concession volunteers .There are 4 more concession events but one is this week we still need help with. While we do need at least one adult for these the kids can fill other open spots. Currently there are many open slots. Sign ups are already out on the toolkit for the events below.
02/11 Softball Games at MBHS Baseball complex. (there are 2 games)
3 Servers from 3:30 to 6:00
3 Servers from 5:30 to 7:45
02/25 Soccer Games at MISD Stadium (there are 3 games)
5-6 servers from 3:30 to 6:30
6 Servers from 6:15 to 9:15
03/20 Soccer Game at MISD Stadium (just 1 game)
6 servers from 6:30 to 9:30
We would really appreciate all the help we can get! Please visit your toolkit account to see what opportunities are available. Thank you to those parents and students that have already signed up!
Solo Entry Form Information
Solo Entry Form (Button below) and payment are due this week on February 14th.
STUDENTS must fill out the form using their McKinney ISD email.
PARENT or STUDENT can bring $12 cash or check (made out to MBHS Band boosters) to the Band hall dropbox outside of Mr.T and Ms. Santamaria's office. (Please put it in an envelope with student's name on it)
**Remember that the solo contest is a requirement for Honors/Sym 1 and HIGHLY ENCOURAGED for Sym 2 and Concert bands.
Completed form and Payment are due Friday, February 14th. (You must use your McKinney ISD student email to enter your information.)
Solo Contest accompanists
NOW IS THE TIME!
Solo contest seems like it is a ways out, but now is the time to make arrangements for piano accompanists.
It is highly encouraged that anyone wanting to participate in the March 21st MISD solo contest should do these two things ASAP:
1. Look at our website and secure one of our approved accompanists. CLICK HERE
2. Order a hard copy of their solo through a music publisher (can take up to 6 weeks to arrive)
If you have any further questions about securing a solo/accompanists, feel free to talk to a private lesson teacher or one of the Boyd band directors.
New link for Movement Camp # 2 on February 20th (Updated information!!)
We will be having our second Movement/Choreography camp on February 20th from 6:30-8:30pm. Dinner is included for the students!! This event involves Incoming freshmen (8th graders), Current 9th, 10th and 11th graders only.

Our new choreographer will be here and we will be moving so please bring comfortable clothing (shorts or sweats, tennis shoes) that is good for moving and has stretch to it.
The next camps to put on your radar is on March 26th.
**Side note to students/parents associated with Cockrill, we have moved back the start time for this camp to 6:30 so that you can attend your open house and then the students will be able to come to MBHS for Dinner/Camp.

Boyd Band Leadership 2020
On Saturday February 22nd we will have our first informational meeting/ training for current Boyd Band student interested in being a leader for 2020-2021 (Current Freshmen-Current Juniors).
We will meet in the band hall from 9:00AM-12:00PM.
This is an opportunity for anyone who is interested to learn leadership qualities and our process of selection regardless of what you think your potential for being selected for next year is.

Athletic Physical clinic dates are now set for the district
You can attend ANY date on ANY campus. Whatever is the most convenient for you!
They are at:
MHS on 4/16 from 3:00-6:00PM
MBHS on 4/18 from 7:00-11:00AM
MNHS on 4/22 from 3:00-6:00PM
Please take advantage of this opportunity and be all set for next year!

The cold weather has made an appearance and will likely appear again, students are only allowed to wear the following Boyd Band spirit wear items:

Online spirit wear orders will only be filled on Wednesdays. You may log onto your Membership Toolkit account (boydband.membershiptoolkit.com) and order any day of the week on Membership Toolkit. We will gather all of the orders, fill them from our stock and place them in a labeled box in the band hall for your student to pick up. We will send you an email once it is in the box. If we are out of the item you ordered, we will let you know.

All of the photos from this summer up to today are on the website!!
All images are downloadable by clicking on the individual images, then to the left of the green "buy" button is a download arrow. If anyone wants to order prints or other products directly from smugmug, that is when you'd use the green "buy" button.
There is also a Smugmug app where you can see all the pictures!
After downloading the app, go to "find photographer" and search for boydhsband. After that they can enter the usual password and then have access.
