Some Campus Highlights

A Note From Principal Brown

Greetings Trojan Nation!

Here we go again, we are just wrapping up another six weeks, the 3rd six weeks to be exact. The end of the 1st Semester. When we started this journey back in September, we didn't quite know what to expect, however we can say that our scholars have proven to be very resilient and some amazing troopers!

As we continue to navigate along this sea of uncertainty and this wave of a cruel pandemic, let's keep in mind we are in this together and we will come out of this the better.

We are now operating with the end in mind. Before I close, I want parents, scholars, community, teachers and staff to know that we as educators want you to know that we have your scholars best interest at heart and there is no way we can do this work without you, the parents and all stakeholders.

LJH exist only to help produce a group of scholars that will be great communicators, life-long learners, servant leaders, law-abiding citizens, college-military ready, the next President of the United States. We want them to be critical thinkers and to dream and imagine a world beyond what they can even think.

Again, thank you parents for your continued support. If you need me for anything, please don't hesitate to reach out to me @ 936-653-1166 or fbrown@cocisd.org.

Science Highlights

7th Grade Texas History - In Mr. Hairgrove’s class, the 7th grade Trojan scholars have seen how the Texas Revolution was won. But the question remains, “We won, now what?” The answer to that question will be discovered as scholars research and learn more about the founding of the Republic of Texas, key figures of the Republic of Texas, and ultimately, how Texas was annexed into the U.S. as part of Manifest Destiny and Westward Expansion that the 8th grade scholars created maps of

6th Grade World Cultures - Mr. Coulter’s World Culture Travelers have just finished their journey through Europe on their way to Russia. In Russia, the 6th grade scholars will be exploring the story of the Cold War and the USSR, specifically with a focus on how Communism affected the culture of Russia. Also, scholars are focusing on creating biographies on notable African-American figures throughout history for their Black History Month projects.
