WELCOME TO HITEON
Dear Hiteon Families,
You may have heard the term F.L.A.S.H. line recently from your child(ren). In an effort to be safe while walking down the halls, be respectful of learning zones, and be responsible by following rules, we have been practicing walking in F.L.A.S.H. lines. F.L.A.S.H. line characteristics are: Facing forward, Lips sealed, Attention in front, Standing tall, and Hands secured. We are already seeing an improvement in our hallway behavior. Be sure and ask your child about F.L.A.S.H. lines.

BEAVERTON DISTRICT LEARNING OPTION SCHOOLS
The Beaverton School District is nationally recognized for high student achievement and innovative programs. Beaverton students in grades 6-12 have the opportunity to investigate learning options that best fit their academic needs. Students can choose their neighborhood school or one of a number of small learning options. Transportation is provided.
Applications for the 2018-2019 school year are now available. Please plan to attend one or more of the open houses that are available; click here for the link to the schedule. Students may only select one option on their application. All applicants must reside within the Beaverton School District boundaries. Beginning October 23 current Beaverton School District students are able to apply online using their student ID. Resident students not currently attending a Beaverton school will need to complete a paper application available online, or at any school office beginning October 23, 2017. Please give careful consideration to your choice of school. Once an application has been submitted, no changes will be allowed.
Students who do not have internet access or are not Beaverton School District students can complete a paper application or pick one up at a school office.
Applications must be received in our District office no later than Friday, January 5, 2018 at 4:00 PM (Pacific Standard Time).

Inclement Weather Information
The District makes decisions based on the ability to operate school buses safely; the ability for students and parents to get to school safely, and the ability for employees to get to work safely and on time. The decision that is made will be for the entire District. As always, parents may choose to make different decisions based on their particular location.
The District will notify parents and staff via SchoolMessenger with a Non-School Hours Emergency message.
