Railroad Changes

SCSD2 in partnership with Indiana Lifesaver want to make you aware of coming changes in the railroad traffic. In the coming weeks and months, Scott County will see two changes. The first change is an increase in the number of trains that will be traveling through Scott County. The second change is an increase of the speed of the trains as they travel through Scott County and even through Scottsburg. We will continue to provide additional information as it becomes available.

Principal's Corner

Help your child see that he/she has a responsibility to the community at large. Children need to learn that communities-and countries- run better when everyone assumes some responsibility. Together, choose a way your family can show its responsibility for your community. You might take part in a neighborhood clean-up. You might take food to a local food bank. You might also help your child see his/her responsibility to preserve our environment. When he/she rides his/her bike (instead of asking you for a ride), he/she is saving energy. When he/she recycles newspapers, he/she's saving trees.
