Friday MTSS
- Paras will be spending time Progress Monitoring and Benchmarking the students.
MTSS during Face to Face Hybrid Days
- Teachers should meet with small groups in person on synchronous days and paras meet with small groups on asynchronous day.
- Teacher does small groups in addition to whole group.
- Teacher can teach lessons determined based on the screener used.
For ex. a phonics screener was used and the teacher now determined what deficits each student has and small groups target those deficits.
- Teachers have knowledge to give screeners, find deficits, and target the deficits.
For ex. Teacher can use Decoding Power
- Paras can STILL Push-In to support students (As available)
- Paras WILL support students during at home asynchronous learning as well
Heggerty and Kilpatrick
- Please be utilizing these programs in classrooms and or interventions
Decoding Power
- Use Decoding Power in Upper Elementary. This is a part of Journeys
Heggerty Update
Heggerty will share out the remaining weeks of lessons by November 1.
We have purchased access to these lessons for K, 1, 2, EL and some special education classrooms. Please do not share the links.
You may consider using the Daily Lesson Videos for:
- asynchronous learning after you have taught the lesson as a way of hearing and seeing it again for review
- engaging in the lessons with students
- professional development prior to teaching a lesson
- some students to engage with asynchronously while you meet with a smaller group synchronously
Fall IRIPs
- Teachers will enter student data in the afternoon on Oct., 21st
- The information will be shared during conferences along with strategies
- IRIPs will be sent home once they are completed
- Parents need to return a signed copy to kept in school's files
Florida Center for Literacy
- University of Florida Literacy Institute-- UFLI has a ton of amazing digital resources for word work that you might want to try for whole group or small group phonics and word study lessons.
- You will be able to send home materials from your classroom that students can use during remote instructions. Materials pick up days will be scheduled by building administrators.
Consider sending:
- Journeys Student Book(s)
- Journeys Decodable Readers (grades 1-2)
- Journeys Close Readers
- HWT Student Workbook
Dry erase boards (if you don’t have a class set of dry erase boards, you can use clear sheet protectors with light colored card stock inside)
Lower Elementary: you might also consider making letter cards in a Word document that can be cut apart and used to make words and a small word building pocket folder to hold the letter cards
IREAD Update
- 100 licenses to per building
- May be used for any student-consider Tier 2
