Monthly Highlight - Robotics
This month, Robotics 2 students built and raced their robots on a "Mario Kart" style track. A light on the front of each robot acted as a power up, which, when shown on another robot, made the robot spin out for a few seconds. The objective was to pick up as many whiffle balls as possible while also avoiding lights from the other robots.
Also during this month, Robotics 3 students flew the drones they built, using Mr. Ness's small army of 3-D printers to make the parts. Mr. Ness allows these students full access to print whatever they want on the printers.

Fall Challenge
Over Thanksgiving Break, we held a fall challenge for CAT students to complete. The challenge consisted of completing 5 lessons of the teacher's choosing. The reward for completing the challenge was a brand new Lakewood CAT camping chair. The lucky students that won were Kristian Smith, De'stiny Wise, Macie Sullivan, Imari Payton, and Jack Plouf.
Lakewood CAT Shadowing
FBLA and CAT
The Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is one of the many clubs we have at Lakewood High School. It is a mix of CAT students and traditional students. You compete in a competition of your choosing at three different levels, Districts, States, and Nationals. Mr. Borg and Mr. Schnell are the teachers that help run the club. The district competitions were just completed, and the students that were able to place received a medal and a certificate.
