HMS Holiday Lights Extravaganza!
Competition Guidelines
Hello Parents and Students,
We are excited to announce a fun competition students can participate in when we return from break.
We will be holding our first-ever Hopkins Middle School Holiday Lights Extravaganza!
Students are invited to bring gently used holiday lights and decorations from home to be displayed on our front lawn.
Here are the details:
Each Grade-Level will have a designated area to fill with lights/decorations
Design and construction will take place during FLEX classes the month of December
Design and construction will be overseen by FLEX teachers
Students will have to adhere to social distancing and mask rules during construction
Lights will be put on a timer and left on for display over Winter Break
There will be a Google Form in our newsletter/social media that students and community members can use to vote for their favorite display throughout Winter Break
The winning team will be awarded the coveted “Trophy of Light” the first week of January
Students will take their decorations back home after the trophy has been awarded
Start thinking of fun holiday themes and collecting your materials! Construction begins when we return from Thanksgiving Break.
