Week 39 - 6/16/2019
What an amazing last week of school! Thank you to all of the parents who came in and volunteered at our various events. The talent show was LONG.... but a lot of fun! I didn't get any pictures because I was too focused on what was going on, so if you have some to share I would love to have some!
The 6th grade promotion was really nice. What a great group of kids we have ! So many awards were given, but a special congrats to Rian Mitchell and Brooklyn Petrick for being the recipients of the Pythian award this year. Also, a new award was created, the Philanthropy award, and Zach Alig is the first recipient of that award. Congratulations to all of our 6th grade students and their families!
WOW, field day was a big hit this year! Way to go for first year teacher Nicole Aydt for organizing and overseeing the event. It couldn't have happened without the many parents who came to help, and especially to Ariel Scesa who brought lots of goodies to hand out and ran the sound system. What a fun day!
There will be evening concerts on Fridays here in North plains starting June 26, what a great idea! See the attached flyer below for all of the details!
In case you need to touch base with me this summer, I am here until the end of June, gone the month of July but will check emails periodically, and back to work full time on August 5. If you are wondering about class lists, I'm hoping to do what I did last year and send them out via email the week of August 19. Stop, Drop and Smile will be either the 28th or 29th of Aug. and that will be the time to meet the teacher and drop off supplies. Kinders will participate this year as we are doing things a little differently with them and they will know who their teachers will be at the same time as everyone else. I still plan to have a parent night in Sept. as there are several things I'd like to share and talk about with parents, but we won't have another formal back to school night with all staff present.
I hope everyone has an amazing summer and I look forward to seeing you all in the fall!
