We have been working on the skill of SUMMARIZING. Homework packets are due Monday, May 4. We have been working in small Guided Reading groups as well as reading a whole class novel called J.T. We just finished the Read Aloud book called How to Eat Fried Worms. The kids had fun watching the movie afterwards and making comparisons between them. Our new Read ALoud is called The Secret Soldier. Ask your child about these exciting stories!

We are continuing to "team" with Mrs. Blankenship on a unit dealing with Feelings and Relationships. The students have enjoyed working as a WHOLE grade level (with Mrs. LeMay's Class) during this time. The focus for this week was Empathy.
SPELLING: We just finished up with prefixes and suffixes during the past 2 spelling units. Next week is a review unit. Remember there will be 25 words this time!
