Broken Arrow Weekly Update

Looking Forward to the Week of February 20-24

Message from Mrs. Green

We had a blast this week celebrating our Friendship Spirit week. Students and staff alike were showing their spirit wearing hats, twinning, showing BA pride and much more. Our classroom parties were a super fun success! Huge shoutouts go to room parents and classroom volunteers for their help to make these parties successful. We appreciate everything you do to partner with us to create memories for our students.

There is quite a bit coming up of the next few weeks including a day off for elementary students on Monday, February 20th. Teachers have a professional development day and will be in training sessions all day to grow their skills and craft.

Next week we will have our February Eagle Nest time on Wednesday that will wrap up our learning about Honesty. We also have a FREE FAMILY BINGO NIGHT scheduled for Friday, February 24th. See information about this and much more, below!

Marathon Club Begins Again on Monday, March 20th

The Spring season of Marathon Club starts on Monday, March 20th. We are excited to see all Fall Marathon Club members back to earn more miles on their pursuit to walk/run a full marathon. Marathon Club is on Monday and Thursdays from 3:05-3:35pm.

The purpose of Marathon Club is to work towards or achieve the goal of running/walking the number of miles in a marathon (26.2 miles). To achieve this, most students need to focus on their goal and attend the Fall and Spring Marathon Club sessions. Due to this, there is usually only one opportunity to sign up for Marathon Club in the Fall.

However, this Spring, Marathon Club will be open to new students even if you did not attend Marathon Club in the Fall.

Please note: It is highly unlikely that students will be able to achieve the miles needed to earn marathon status if they did not attend the Fall sessions. But, if your student is looking for a great way to exercise this spring, Marathon Club will be welcoming new students.

Please remember that Marathon Club is for 1st-5th graders only. Kindergartners can participate if their guardian attends with them. If you would like to sign your student up for Marathon Club, please ask the front office for a registration form.

Please send any questions to bamarathonclub@gmail.com.

Volunteers Needed!

We are in need of more parent volunteers for Marathon Club. Would you like to get some steps in and support your Broken Arrow Marathon Club? Reach out to Emily Shepherd at bamarathonclub@gmail.com to express interest and learn more about this wonderful opportunity.
