The Polish Ameriecans
The Polish Americans came from Wisla, Poland. The food they brought were pork, chicken, beef, cabbage and spices. The traditions they introduced that we still know today is the Pulaski Day Parade in New York. A political reason they came to the U.S. is because they wanted better jobs. An economic reason they came to the U.S. is because they needed more money. Once the Polish got to America they went to go work in factories and coal mines. An interesting fact about the Polish is that they are known for their love, joyful music, dance, rich foods and art.
The Russian Americans
The Russian Americans came from Moscow, Russia. The food they brought were caviar and spice cakes. The traditions they introduced were painting Easter eggs for Easter. A political reason they came to the U.S. is because the government took away farms and businesses from the people that owned them. An economic reason the Russians came to the U.S. is because they needed more money. The jobs they took once they got here was professors, inventors and scientists. An interesting fact about Russia is that they had to learn a new trade before they came to America.
The Irish Americans
The Irish Americans came from New Ross, Ireland. The food they brought was potatoes and potato chips. The traditions they brought to the U.S. were Saint Patrick's Day. A political reason they came to America is because some of the Irish didn't pay for their farms and got kicked off their land by the government. An economic reason they came to America was because they needed more money. An environmental reason they came to America was because they had a potato famen and they didn't have any food. An interesting fact about the Irish is that when they came to America they called themselves the Scotch-Irish.
