ICCS Mission Statement:
A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
The following statement has been provided by the Office of Catholic Schools:
In concurrence with the recent announcement made by Governor Edwards that school buildings are officially closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year, students in Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Lake Charles will not be returning to their classrooms this school year. As approved by Bishop Provost and Superintendent Kimberlee Gazzolo distance learning will continue for students through Friday, May 15, 2020.
As we work to finalize details for end of the year celebrations, and for summer programs, we remain committed to our students and families and we appreciate your support during this unprecedented time. We will continue to communicate via social media, school websites and email. We thank our pastors, administrators, teachers and staff for their unwavering dedication to their students and we look forward to the time when we can be together again! We ask that you continue to pray for the sustained good health of all and for the recovery of the sick.
Yours in Catholic Education,
Christi Jarreau, Principal
Immaculate Conception Cathedral School
FACILITIES UPDATE
Facilities Update:
Our facilities committee has finalized a plan for campus improvements with regard to security and drainage. Relocating the early elementary playground and the Wilson Street parking lot/service entrance will allow the entire campus to be secured within one fenced area. Fencing and gate improvements will further restrict access to our building and enhance the security of our learning environment. This work will also address ongoing drainage issues in the Park Avenue courtyard area.
In the coming weeks, we will begin to relocate the playground equipment in preparation for the upcoming construction. The plans are currently in the final stages of review by the diocesan building committee and we are hopeful that the project will be complete prior to the 2020-21 school year.
These security improvements have been in the works since the original completion of the Annex building. THANK YOU to our facilities committee for their dedication and the many hours of hard work and problem solving they have invested in this project!
FIRST COMMUNION UPDATE FOR 2ND GRADE PARENTS
As Bishop Provost continues to monitor the guidelines and recommendations that will determine when Mass is again open to the public, we will have to postpone the First Communion Mass for ICCS students scheduled for May 2nd. Second grade families will be receiving email communication regarding the process for rescheduling this special day.

ALLELUIA! The Lord is Risen!
Easter is such a beautiful season that it lasts for 50 days until Pentecost. In our Atrium at school, Mrs. Viau would normally be celebrating this Liturgical Season by reading the Resurrection story, singing Alleluia and celebrating our Baptismal Promises this time of the school year. Attached are at home activities you can do with your children to keep them connected with the ICCS Atrium while they are at home and away from school. For more information, please contact ICCS Director of Religious Education, Mrs. Rose Viau by email at rviau@iccschool.org.

REGINA COELI PRAYER
The Regina Coeli (Queen of Heaven )
- Queen of Heaven, rejoice, alleluia.
R. For He whom you did merit to bear, alleluia.
V. Has risen, as he said, alleluia.
R. Pray for us to God, alleluia.
V. Rejoice and be glad, O Virgin Mary, alleluia.
R. For the Lord has truly risen, alleluia.
Let us pray.
O God, who gave joy to the world through the resurrection of Thy Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, grant we beseech Thee, that through the intercession of the Virgin Mary, His Mother, we may obtain the joys of everlasting life. Through the same Christ our Lord.
Amen.
ACCESS PAST PANTHER PRESS ISSUES
PRAYER AGAINST THE CORONAVIRUS
O Mary, you shine continuously along our journey as a sign of salvation and hope.
We entrust ourselves to you, Health of the Sick, who at the Cross were near to the pain of Jesus, keeping your faith firm.
You, Salvation of the Roman people, know what we need, and we trust that you will provide for those needs so that, as at Cana of Galilee, joy and celebration may return after this moment of trial.
Help us, Mother of Divine Love, to conform ourselves to the will of the Father and to do what Jesus tells us, He who took our sufferings upon Himself, and took up our sorrows to bring us, through the Cross, to the joy of the Resurrection. Amen.
We seek refuge under your protection, O Holy Mother of God. Do not despise our pleas – we who are put to the test – and deliver us from every danger, O glorious and blessed Virgin.
