SASEA: Safer at School Early Alert
A partnership between VUSD and UCSD
RMMS IS THE FIRST SECONDARY SCHOOL TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SASEA PILOT PROGRAM
RMMS WILL ONLY BE PARTICIPATING IN THE WASTEWATER DETECTION PORTION AND SWAB COVID-19 TESTING.
UC San Diego Wertheim School of Public Health is working on additional safety strategies: testing wastewater and surfaces for the presence of particles from the COVID-19 virus. The Safer at School Early Alert System (SASEA) is a COVID-19 wastewater detection pilot program for K-12 schools.
Families will need to opt in to participate in the pilot. We are hoping for 100% participation. The more participation, the more we are able to keep our scholars in school and safe.
What we need our families to do now:
Complete On-Site Testing Consent Form
Parents will have the option to consent their children to responsive testing with the SASEA
team. Responsive testing will be offered when there is a positive wastewater or surface signal
on campus. Please note that it may take a few days for consent data entry to be entered and
updated to master sheet (i.e. we cannot accommodate same day turn-in and testing).
Who fills this out:
Parent of child and any staff member who wish to participate in on-site responsive testing
