Ray Charles Robinson was born on September 23, 1930, in Albany, Georgia. He later dropped his last name “Robinson” he grew up in Florida in a poor house. A few months later he started to lose his eye sight still at a young age. By a few years at age seven he went completely blind and could see no more. His Mother and Father transported him to a school for the blind. At the school he would play instruments such as the clarinet. He learned to memorize music, perfected his skills. But most of all he would play piano. He loved piano so much he learned how to play piano by himself.
When ray got older he made his first song and was going to publish it. But the problem was that the people where against him because of his skin. But he tried and still couldn’t. So instead he did a show in front of million people. It became a hit. Everyone loved it except, the cops they threw him in jail. Later when he got out of jail they let him publish his song. According to ccisd.net, it says that the song “what’d I say” became a million seller.
ONE OF HIS CHALENGES WAS WHEN HE WAS A LITTLE BOY HE LOVED THE SOUND OF A PIANO THAT HE WANTED TO PLAY IT BUT THE PROBLEM WAS HE WAS BLIND AND COULD NOT SEE BUT HE PRACTICED SO MUCHED HE LEARNED EVERY THING ABOUT THE PIANO AND LEARNED HOW TO PLAY THE PIANO.
ANOTHER SATICFYING STORY IS THAT WHEN HE WAS ONLY 11 YEARS OLD HIS FATHER DIED AND HE WAS ONLY LEFT WITH HIS MOM. BUT LATER ON HIS MOTHER DIED FROM A DISEASE.
