CIMARRON MIDDLE SCHOOL Summer 2020
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
School is out for the summer, but we still have a few frequently asked questions due to the fact the year ended so abruptly.
8th Grade End of Year Video: Although we were not able to celebrate today, May 22, the scheduled last day of school, we hope a few of the highlights from your 8th-grade year helps to bridge your way to Memorial as a Bulldog. To the Class of 2024 may you Dream Big! The future depends on what you do today. https://youtu.be/4xNlm1Bza8I It is published on our YouTube channel, special thanks to Mrs. Taylor for its development.
Yearbooks: At this time - the plan is to distribute yearbooks during Cimarron's schedule pick-up - SPUD on August 11th. For those students moving on to Memorial - we hope to have your yearbooks ready for you to pick-up at EMHS during their Freshman schedule pick-up day.
Lost & Found/Locker items: Items will be on tables near the entry for review on Tuesdays in June. You will need to contact the school before entry is allowed. Appropriate social distancing will apply. All items unclaimed by June 16 will be discarded or donated.
We encourage each family to complete the final steps for enrollment for 20/21 by finalizing your annual update! More details are below in the newsletter.
Please feel free to call us at the school, 405.340.2935 for any special assistance you may need. During this time we ask that you do not show-up but call and make an appointment if you need to meet with an essential office employee, counselor, or administrator.
Take care! Until we meet again.

2020-21 REQUIRED ANNUAL UPDATE

- Log-in, scroll down, and click on the "more" link and then "online registration" in the lower-left corner of the portal screen to begin the Annual Update.
- Parents or guardians can verify their existing information and make any needed changes. (This is a GREAT time to update contact names, phone numbers, and email addresses!)
- Students will not receive a 2020-2021 schedule in August until this update has been completed.
If you need assistance registering or logging in to the Parent Portal, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your specific question.
SPORTS PHYSICALS *** NEW INFORMATION
After consulting with our athletic trainers, team physicians, and the staff of McBride Hospital, we are encouraging our students/athletes to proceed with the following advice on sports physicals for the 2020-21 school year. We will provide additional information as it comes available.
Due to the continuing restrictions with social distancing, there is uncertainty whether the district and McBride physicians can host a mass physical event for our athletes.
New athletic physicals will still be required this year for all athletes. Last year's physicals, 2019-2020, will expire July 1, 2020.
We are recommending all athletes get a pre-participation physical on their own. They should utilize their personal family physicians, which is preferable, or urgent care clinics.
Please have them take a blank physical form with them. Below - is a link to a printable physical form.
The RankOne website is ready for all athletes to do all online forms. This is still required as usual.
FUTURE 7TH GRADERS MUST PROVIDE IMMUNIZATION DOCUMENTS
All students must be compliant with the immunization requirements for schools established by the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) and the State of Oklahoma for the 2020-2021school year.
Your student’s immunization record can be viewed on the Infinite Campus Parent Portal.
If you have updated immunization records, please send them to the email address listed below before the end of school – May 22, 2020.
● All students entering the 7th grade in 20-21 school year will be required to provide
documentation of a Tdap booster (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) given at age 10 years
This record can be emailed to email@example.com
● Your student will not be allowed to pick up their school schedule until all
immunization requirements are met.
Additional information regarding how to meet the immunization requirements can be found on this website.
