Miss Elsie doling
Miss Elsie Doling was born on October 30, 1893. She was a survivor aboard the Titanic ship when it sank in 1912. (She was 18 then.) She was with her traveling companions, Mr. Henry Price Hodges, and her sister in law Ada Doling. Ada survived.
The ship that was thought to be unsinkable was actually sinkable because there were four compartments that could be flooded then, if any more were flooded, and then the ship would sink. The titanic was 78 feet high (175 feet from the keel to the top of the funnels.) Her second class ticket was 23 Euros. ($25.01).
The Titanic was a ship that hit an iceberg and it sank at 2:20 am on April 15, 1912. The ship departed on April 10. It was about 400 miles away from Newfoundland, Canada. It had had 2,200 passengers aboard and crashed the side of an iceberg. Four hours after it hit it started sinking. After her rescue by the Carpathian, Miss doling and her relative returned to England on board the Philadelphia on May 11, 1912.
