Shine Out by Shouting Out the Strengths of Others
I recently read a chapter out of a book called, Poor Student, Rich Teaching, by Eric Jensen. It was specifically about teaching children how to find hope when they are hopeless. First, Jensen says to think of something that brings you peace. For example drawing or writing about feelings often brings children peace. Then, he said to write one small gratitude down. Lastly, do one act of kindness for someone else. This 'formula' for hope brings small glimmers of hope that build into beacons of hope when this becomes a daily practice, and it works for adults just like it does for children.
