Hadley Wrestling Team Honors the Late Terry Finnerty

Hadley staff member Terry Finnerty was a fixture in the Hadley front office for many years. Last summer, Terry passed away unexpectedly and she continues to be missed by the Hadley community. Over the years Terry served as the unofficial official scorekeeper for the Hadley Wrestlers. To honor her memory, Coach Charlie McCluskey had TF put on the left shoulder of the wrestler sweatshirts as a tribute to Terry. "Terry loved Hadley students," said Coach McCluskey. "She came to cheer them on at home wrestling meets, and took on the difficult task of operating the scoreboard. She did it effortlessly, and was a tremendous support to our program. We miss her!"

Earlier this week, the team surprised Terry's husband by presenting him with a sweatshirt for him and their two kids. Pictured is the team in their sweatshirts, Mr. Finnerty, and a photo of Terry in her memory.

Art Teacher Presents at Illinois Art Education Association Conference

Elementary art teacher Linda Anderson presented “Raising the Arts to New Standards" at the 2018 Illinois Art Education Association Conference in Normal, on November 9. In a letter from the IAEA President Theresa McGee, “ Her presentation was both timely and relevant as Illinois is only one of two states to include fine arts as an indicator in the state ESSA plan. It is individuals like Linda that elevate the profession through their dedication to art education.” Congratulations, Ms. Anderson! Well done.
