From Our Future Superintendent
I am pleased to announce that at tonight's School Board Meeting, the members unanimously approved the contract for ROCORI School District's next Superintendent, Kevin Enerson. He will begin his assignment at ROCORI on July 1, 2023. Below is a message from Mr. Enerson:
I am humbled and honored to be named the next Superintendent for the ROCORI School District. The tradition of excellence and community pride in your students and school is second to none. I look forward to getting to know each community in the District and make connections to keep ROCORI moving forward to meet the needs of each student we serve.
A little bit about myself, I was born and raised in Oklee, a small town in the northwest part of the state and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Mayville State University. From there I started teaching in Edmore, ND and also coached basketball and baseball. I began my administrative role as a K-12 Principal and Activities Director for Climax-Shelly Public Schools followed by a lengthy stint at Le Sueur-Henderson as a Secondary Principal. For the past seven years, I have been the Superintendent for Pipestone Area Schools. My wife Mardi and I have been married for 30 years and our two children live in this region of the state, so it is great to get closer to them.
I love the work I do every day and ROCORI’s vision of “Making a Difference Today for a Better Tomorrow” is something I believe in! Providing a high-quality education to our children will be my highest priority and I want everyone in the community to work with us to make that happen. I am excited to begin this work with your school board, staff, parents, students, and community. July 1st can’t come soon enough!
Kevin Enerson
Future ROCORI Superintendent

Inclement Weather - What does a Flexible Learning Day look like for an Elementary student?
In ROCORI, our elementary teachers have developed Flexible Learning Boards in case travel to school needs to be cancelled due to safety concerns. Here's what the day looks like for students at ROCORI elementary schools.
- Dr. Thein will message families via email and text as soon as safely possible to let families know if there is a Flexible Learning day.
- Elementary students should choose activities off of their flexible learning boards to complete for the day.
- Students will be marked present in school unless a family calls to say the student is ill or unable to participate in the Flexible Learning activities.
- An adult at home should sign the Flexible Learning Board and send it with their child to school the next in person learning day.
- Students have several days to complete the required activities on the board. Please work with your child's teacher if an extension is needed.
- Teachers are available from 9:00am to 2:00pm for email questions about the activities.
